Disability Info A comprehensive Federal website of disability-related government resources including: civil rights, education, employment, housing, health, income support, technology, transportation, and community life. TBI Chat Offers chat rooms to share experiences, meet new people, get support and information about brain injury. Head Injury Hotline This site is maintained by the Head Injury Hotline-a non-profit clearinghouse founded and operated by head injury activists since 1985. Good resource for people feeling isolated and disconnected in the community. Camp for Kids Reaches Kansas City area children who experience violence, illness, poverty, disability, or day-to-day uncertainty about their home and family life. These are children that need a nurturing place to discover nature, learn about themselves and others. Wichita Self Help Network Great resource for Support Group facilitators and the community. A great place for information on all types of self-help issues. Helmets R Us Offers inexpensive helmets to non-profit groups, such as schools, social service agencies & schools. Through the Looking Glass (TLG) Specializes in research, training, and services for families in which a child, parent or grandparent has a disability or medical issue. Kansas Association of Centers for Independent Living This site lists all of the ILC's (independent living centers) in Kansas as well as up to date legislative information and links to many other disability related sites. Center for Neuro Skills A very comprehensive site and offers a TBI Resource Guide. It offers many useful articles and information on current research and medical advances for TBI. The Perspectives Network Offers resources as well as a translation link for those not fluent in English. Also a source for Survivor Identification Cards, references materials, and resources. National Resource Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Offers relevant and practical information for persons with brain injury, family members and professionals. National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities Provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues focusing on children and youth (birth to age 22). Disability Resources Monthly Thousands of the best disability resources on the Internet, personally selected and annotated by the staff of Disability Resources Monthly and alphabetically arranged by subject for easy access. The National Stroke Association Offers stroke education, support and resources. The Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri Has information and support about seizure disorders and epilepsy. Dana Brain Initiatives/Dana Brainweb Resources about brain injury and other related health conditions by topic.
