Like many social organizations, the Brain Injury Association of Kansas relies heavily on the support of private benefactors. Your contribution helps us educate our community about prevention on future injuries, plus, allows us to offer support and hope to survivors and their families. Programs that your donation will support include:
- Resource Coordination — Coordinators offer short and long-term support by tapping local, state and national resources to help people help themselves. Plans are tailored to a person’s exact needs. People can access the specific resources they need to face — and conquer — any challenge. This free service is available to all survivors and families in Kansas and the Greater Kansas City Area.
- Survivor and Family Assistance Program — A Support Group Network that provides information and interaction ... A free “Helpline” (800-783-1356) for resources and support ... Articles, books and magazines to educate ... And aid to survivors and families in a tragedy’s aftermath.
- Prevention Program — A collaborative effort to teach students of all ages how to prevent brain injury. Focuses on seat belt safety, helmet use — and not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Speakers Bureau — Promotes the Association’s services and brain injury awareness and prevention through speeches to civic, social, church and corporate groups.
- Education Program — Offers workshops to survivors, families and professionals about the effects and challenges of life after a brain injury.
- Public Affairs and Advocacy — Encourages the growth of existing programs — and works to boost awareness of legislative issues.
Your tax-deductible gift makes it possible to create a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy.
